Scams Awareness & Aftercare with Age UK

Join us on 6th May, 1pm for a live session designed to help you spot, avoid, and recover from scams — whether they target you or the older loved ones in your care.

What to expect:

  • The latest scam techniques fraudsters are using today

  • How to spot and avoid the most common frauds

  • Real-life examples and case studies

  • Practical tips to stay safe online, on the phone, and at your doorstep

  • A chance to ask questions and access follow-up support

After the main session, join a smaller breakout room where you can connect with other Carents. These informal group chats are a safe space to share experiences and learn from others in similar situations.

About the Speakers:

Emma Kennedy and Laura Jones bring a wealth of experience from their work with the Scams Awareness & Aftercare Service at Age UK Cheshire — a vital initiative helping to protect older adults from fraud and support those affected by it.

Together, Emma and Laura lead a programme that offers:

  • Group scams awareness sessions

  • One-to-one support for older people and their families

  • Specialist aftercare for those who’ve been targeted

  • And a free monthly Scams Bulletin highlighting the latest fraud trends and safety advice

Whether you’re supporting a parent, relative, or older friend — this session is here to help you feel informed, confident, and in control.
